Mullingar Hockey Club is based in the capital town of Westmeath. Our home is the Loreto College, on the Harbour Road in the town centre. The Ladies club was founded in 1978, with a Men’s section following 5 years later in 1983.

Mullingar was always a friendly club, with manys a Dublin club staying the night, to enjoy our hospitality. The club has garnered quite a reputation on the Continent, with our legendary trips to several European Cities for Easter Hockey Tournaments. Players come from near and far in order to play with the Club, indeed at one stage, we had players from eight different Counties.

The Club has recently moved backed into the Loreto, after a brief stint on the road, as an Astroturf pitch was laid during renovations in the College. With the new pitch in place, things are looking up in regards to the next phase of Hockey in the Midlands. We currently have two Men’s teams and one Ladies side and approximately forty-five colts. In the upcoming seasons, we hope to have three adult sides in each gender and full teams from under 8’s, right through to under 16’s.

From August, all senior players will train together in the Loreto on both Tuesday’s and Thursday’s @ 7:30, with colts in Primary School training on Sunday morning’s @ 11am, with Secondary School juniors training on a Friday evening time TBC.

The Club is always on the lookout for players of all levels, but especially good ones!
